Bangkok / 16 March 2020 (Today) - Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited increases precaution measures to ensure passenger safety and to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) by adding exit screening points with handheld thermoscan at both domestic and international departure halls of its own airports in Samui, Sukhothai and Trat as part of the measures by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health.
The airport has set up additional screening points for passengers, employees and outsourced personnel as follows:
- Samui Airport has added screening points at domestic and international departure halls since 13 March 2020 with operation starting from first to last flight of the day. A total of 7 screening points has been installed at designated areas including check-in area, domestic departure checkpoints (for online check-in passengers), international departures checkpoints (for online check-in passengers), entrance 3 (for staffs working in restricted areas), entrance 2 (for cargo personnel or drivers in restricted areas), meeting point located in the arrival hall and entrance 7 for air catering staffs and ground support equipment staffs.
- Sukhothai Airport has added screening points for passengers at domestic departure hall from 12 March 2020. Airport staffs are also required to pass the screening point at designated registration area before working.
- Trat Airport has added 2 screening points for passengers at domestic departure hall from 12 March 2020 at check-in area and at the entrance to common area connected to arrival hall. All airport personnel are required to pass the screening point at the designated registration area to start their duty.
If any passenger or employee is found with high body temperature or suspected of COVID-19 symptoms, the staff shall coordinate with the airline and airport medical services and notify public health officer at such port immediately.
